Thankful for...

1. a joyful baby
no clothes and messy hair
has the love of her father.
 so who really cares?

2. waking up to an emptied dishwasher, thanks to my early-rising, 4 year old. baffling.
3. love notes on the coffee maker
4. Carter requesting to skip school & hang with me instead of passing out cupcakes to his classmates on his birthday (which I initially resisted. why on earth would he choose that? surely his mind will change.)
5. sporadic outbursts of giggles while watching Tom & Jerry in the other room
6. what I was going to buy anyway, found on SALE!
7. cousins freeze dance to the fun album, Red
8. family making the trip to celebrate
9. a really, really good movie
10. "bye-bye daddy" first sentence. it counts.
11.  I bring the sleeping baby upstairs. leaving a trunk full of groceries. come back down to find my 4 year old has brought them ALL into the house for me! she's 4. how? what? i didn't even ask for her help. she's FOUR.
12. just baby & me in the house this morning. the front door opens to let the dog out, on his command. closes completely. baby girl standing there watching him out the window, waiting for his "back in" bark. what is happening around here? she is 1. ONE! what? how?
13. library selection of 3DS games saving me a fortune in so-so, tossed aside games.
14. "I'm a billionaire, mom." -Carter, 7, counting his birthday money from a generous uncle
15. Eucerin hand cream
16. Eph 3: 14-21 (MSG)
"My response is to get down on my knees before the Father,..I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask Him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love.
Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.
God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us."

(you can read why i write these lists here. basically, naming the moments that bring delight turns the otherwise mundane into marvelous!) Pin It
