And all the others he had with him were nothing like his friend, Adam Layman.
Carter was swarmed by wasps over the weekend. Bites all over his body; too many to count.
Terrifying cries for help got my husband to Carter's side to rescue him.
I was doing an open house so Dan had both kids & the 85lb lab with him.
He frantically got the screaming & trembling Carter along with Lilah (1) & dog into the SUV to search for treatment.
In the end, he has recovered. It was painful & frightening while it lasted-for all of us. Poor Carter.
He managed to pull himself together enough through the pain to muster,
"God should not make those swaps. They're bad"I agree. I hate swaps. Stupid swaps.
Anyway, it got me thinking about those of you that may have children swarmed by disease, if you will. I think of you feeling helpless to swat away what is attacking your baby. My 6 ft 240lb husband was shaken. Even when we went back to the scene to look for the shoes lost in the battle, it was difficult for him. Just the image of a defenseless child and the uncertainty in trying to help.
My heart goes out to those of you that are still in the battle. Still hanging onto hope & struggling with uncertainty & fear.
