If grace is an ocean, we're all sinking

We've been playing this song & singing this song more than any other since I heard it last year.
So much so that Carter can be heard singing
"afflictions eclipsed by glory" (strange for a 3yr old) and
"oh, how he loves us, oh/ oh, how he loves us/ how he loves us, oh"
on any given day.

On Sunday night, I couldn't wait to sing it for Encounter at church.
For months, I wanted to our congregation to hear this song.

Standing on the platform, I just lost it.
Usually I can get composure for the sake of my responsibility to sing with the mic in my hand, if not because I'm standing in front of all of those people.
Not this time. I just lost it.
I stood up there bawling; tears washing my mascara down my face.
I was thinking of those hurting, those weak and defeated; those feeling unworthy or inadequate standing in that room before me.
If grace is an ocean, we're all sinking...

I don't have time to maintain these regrets when I think about
the way He loves us.
My friend wrote of her encounter with grace today & I thought you might relate or be encouraged. Read it by clicking here.
Here's the video of Kim Walker singing it:
