Here it comes. You knew it would as soon as I reported that I was starting a new Beth Moore study. Today's lessons. Oh so many!
The book of Esther is different from others in the canon for various reasons. One that is well known is the absence of any reference to God.
The point Beth brought me today that got me was: This is the type of book we need. He's there even when it doesn't say so.
God is not only present in the monumental moments, but the mundane.
(completely paraphrased)
I left feeling overwhelmingly grateful for mundane things in my life. And if you know me well, its those things that I end up resenting. The same of anything (besides black dresses) irritates & bores me. Being a housewife & mom has been such a challenge to my nature. Even watching "Groundhog Day" annoys me, imagine me living it!

I've been learning for almost 3 years now to see God in those mundane things.
God can be found in them, if I'm willing to see the evidence of His presence.
This is what our Christian faith is built on; is it not?
"Faith is the evidence of things hoped for. The certainty of things unseen." Heb 11:1

Today, I got a shower in gratefulness for His grace, for His blessing of health & provision for our family. My fingers are trembling as I type, thinking of the ways He has preserved me & given me favor time and time again.

This is going to be good! If your church isn't currently holding sessions for it, get yourself a copy of Esther and dig in with me!

If not, bare with me while I type out my reflections on the lessons I learn over then next 9 weeks. Pin It
